Built in 1976, POLARFRONT was operated as a weather ship by the Norwegian state before being transformed into an expedition yacht. Its compact size and impressive sea-handling capabilities ensure that navigating the sometimes narrow fjords and turbulent waters is not an issue for POLARFRONT.

Eight spacious cabins sleep twelve, and the vessel is also equipped with a fitness room and a library dedicated to maritime and polar literature. The crew of up to twelve includes a talented French chef and two experienced guides.

POLARFRONT offers the ideal base for Arctic adventures while guests enjoy comfortable, functional spaces alongside first-class gastronomy and sterling service. No stranger to icy Arctic waters, this former working vessel turned expedition yacht will uncover the secrets of the northernmost fjords to you and your guests.

As the gales whip up the waves, relax within POLARFRONT’S cozy interior spaces. Central to life on POLARFRONT  is the Coriolis Lounge. Here you can drink, dine, socialize, or attend talks from naturalists or local expert guides.
