Yacht Experiences

A voyage through coastal Croatia’s history and culture

Explore what is often described as Europe’s ‘most beautiful shoreline’ as you take a superyacht along the coast of Croatia. Discover its cathedral-like caves, island paradises, and fabulous cuisine while swapping between yacht, kayak, and helicopter on this stately adventure.

When to go:
April – June, September – October

Arrive in Pula on Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula and board your yacht. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll discover the remarkable history on your doorstep with a guided tour of Pula’s Roman amphitheater, Hercules’ Gate, and the Temple of Augustus.

In the morning, uncover the natural beauty of Motovun. Set high in the rolling hills and looking out over its eponymous forest and the Mirna River, this medieval village is a hub for Croatian gastronomy. Join a local truffle hunter and their dogs on a private search for the famed Istrian truffle before returning to the village for an aromatic truffle-themed feast.

Your yacht will navigate to Brijuni Marine Park, a beautiful region with incredible diving, beautiful botanical gardens, and ancient Roman ruins. Discover the island where Tito, the leader of communist Yugoslavia, used to entertain august guests such as Elizabeth Taylor and Queen Elizabeth. Explore its safari park, remains of Roman settlements, and botanical gardens.

Head beneath the waves with a Pelorus dive master or snorkel to see the marine park’s undersea splendor, from caves to shipwrecks and even a Roman villa turned underwater archaeological site.

Cruise to the island of Cres with bottlenose dolphins playing in the bow’s wake. Anchor and head ashore with your eye turned to the brilliant blue sky for the island’s diverse bird life including golden eagles, short-toed eagles, and peregrine falcons.

At the Beli Visitor and Rescue Center for Griffon Vultures, you can aid in the rehabilitation of the young vulture chicks that fall out of their cliff-hanging eyries into the Adriatic sea. Once they’ve received treatment at Beli, you’ll assist the experts in returning these fortunate birds back to the wild.

Return to the mainland for a guided hike through pristine Risnjak National Park. One of the few remaining habitats for the lynx in Europe, you’ll try to find these beautiful creatures as well as spot the free-roaming bears and wolves in this nearly 16,000 acre-wilderness.

Journey over the stunning landscape by helicopter until you arrive in the Gacka River Valley. Here you’ll travel along the world’s third longest sinking river on a locally guided private kayak trip. Contemplate it at your leisure or ramp up the fun by passing beneath a cascading waterfall.

Afterward there’s time to discover the valley by mountain bike or wade into the river to catch rainbow trout, grayling or carp while under the tutelage of a world-class fly fisherman. Return to the yacht to have your fish expertly prepared by your private chef.

The next day, take the helicopter in the direction of Zadar. Arriving at the Cetina River Spring, you’ll rendezvous with expert cavers and mountain rescue guides ahead of an exploration of one of Croatia’s most magnificent caves—Gospodska.

Returning awestruck into the light, you’ll fly to Bibich Winery for a spectacular tasting menu paired with local wines that bring together all of the flavors of Croatia.
