Start your journey through Nepal by transferring to the Himalayan foothills by helicopter while the mountain scenery soars up around you. Check in to the exclusive Happy House at Phaplu—formerly the home of Sir Edmund Hillary. Lunch , food that a traditional sherpa would enjoy, is served in the garden where you’re surrounded by remarkable Himalayan views.

Trek up to the Ratnange ridge along winding forest paths passing weathered monasteries, until you arrive at your traditional ger camp. From your exclusive viewpoint, you’ll watch the sun color the faces of the mountains orange before you fall asleep beneath the stars.

Come morning, and after breakfast in the fresh mountain air, return to Happy House through the glorious blooms of a rhododendron forest. The helicopter will take you to Everest Base Camp, located beneath the Khumbu Icefall at an elevation approaching 18,000ft.

Upon arrival, you’ll have around ten minutes to experience the location, steal a few photographs, before a swift and scenic descent back to thicker air in Kongde where you’ll enjoy lunch with Mount Everest as your backdrop.

Through Pelorus, join only a handful of travelers each year who are permitted entry to the ancient walled city of Mustang. A world unto itself on the edge of the Tibetan plateau, this almost autonomous province of Nepal is set in a huge arid valley characterized by beautifully colorful desert canyons.

You’ll trek to this cut-off land and discover its frozen-in-amber culture and way of life. Visit local villages and ridge-top monasteries, and sip tea with the generous locals.

Embark on a Nepalese safari next, staying at Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge in Chitwan National Park. From here, with a naturalist as a guide, you’ll set out on jeeps on the lookout for free-roaming tigers.

Journey through grassland and wildlife-filled forest at dusk, hoping to see these iconic creatures as they patrol their territories. Come evening, with a bonfire reaching up into the night sky, enjoy a traditional feast as you swap stories from the day’s adventures.

Beneath the shade of mango trees, eat a hearty breakfast before your morning river safari. In a hand-wrought boat, drift along the Narayani River looking for the marsh mugger and gharial crocodiles, as well as a fascinating array of tropical bird life.

Come afternoon, walk narrow jungle paths as you attempt to see the wildlife close up in its natural habitat. As the sun draws near the horizon, return to the Narayani to walk alongside the lodge’s resident elephants.

Watch these gentle giants cool off in the river while you drink sundowners on the banks. Your next show, just before dinner, is as spectacular: a Nepali dance in bright outfits performed to extremely catchy beats.
