ARGENTINA & ANTARCTICA
Land in Ushuaia—the gateway to Antarctica—at Argentina’s southernmost extent. Here you’ll practice glacier skills in the mountains under the guidance of your expedition leaders. Explore Ushuaia’s rich maritime history and elegant European architecture.
Board a private charter flight and travel south, passing over the Magellan Strait, Darwin Mountain Range, and Cape Horn before landing at King George Island and transferring to your waiting yacht. You’ll navigate through iceberg-filled waters, spotting sea lions, whales, and seals as you revel in your first glimpses of Antarctica.
Embark on your ski tour of Antarctica’s uncharted territory. Explore gentle slopes and thrilling steeps, with crampons and ice axes coming out for heavily glaciated ascents. Sail between Livingston Island and see the Antarctic Peninsula. With your Pelorus expert alongside you, travel inland for another level of heli-skiing.
PENGUINS & PEACE
Through our industry-leading contact network, you’ll have many opportunities to tap into Antarctica’s scientific community in between skiing, climbing, and hiking. Travel ashore on your tender to visit scientific research stations, visit colonies of Adelie and Emperor penguins (among others), and see huge sea lion colonies.
You’ll be accompanied by a Pelorus guide and naturalist who will advise on responsible interactions with the remarkable wildlife found here. Once you’ve returned home, you’ll be able to follow ‘your’ penguin’s movements, selected as part of the Citizen Science project while you were on your expedition.
Sailing Antarctica offers not only a complementary peacefulness to the serene surroundings, it’s also more eco-friendly due to the reduced reliance on motoring. An exploration by sailing yacht assures a minimal environmental footprint for your expedition and protects the wildlife—above and below the waterline—without sacrificing comfort.
