Liuwa Plains

In Zambia’s Western Province lies Liuwa Plains, an area that remains wonderfully natural and uncommercialised. As well as incredible game viewing, track cheetah and hyena with lead conservationists and hear an informative talk from a representative of the Zambia Carnivore Programme. Receive a fascinating insight into the programme as you accompany a team to tag, track and monitor an animal.

Experiences

Boasting the second largest wildebeest migration on Earth, follow the animals by land or by water in inflatable kayaks. Experience the park and migration from above as you take scenic helicopter flights, stopping at lagoons, beautiful bird colonies and for remote picnics in the bush. For a cultural insight, watch the Munde spearfishing inside the park.

Kasanka National Park

To revel in a natural wildlife phenomenon, unique only to this location, venture to the remote and unspoilt Kasanka National Park. As well as a brilliant diversity of animal, plant and birdlife, Kasanka boasts an unbelievable bat migration. Witness the skies turn dramatically black as some 8 million giant fruit bats descend on a small area to feed. Scale wooden ladders into the forest canopy to get amongst the action, watch eagles crashing into the swarms of bats, and be amazed by the screeching sounds that surround.
