Pulled on a sled by a team of huskies, their tongues flying in the wind, you’ll whisk through the snowy scenery alongside a guide. Through pine forest and past lakes, you’ll search for Norway’s wildlife before reaching your overnight camp where you’ll hopefully glimpse the stunning ripples of the aurora borealis.

In the morning, switch to a snowmobile before you join the Sámi reindeer herders at one of their winter settlements.

You’ll be one of the privileged few welcomed every year to get a closer look at how they live their lives, taking a day to discover their centuries-old customs and techniques.

Next, you’ll discover another age-old technique for survival during the harsh Norwegian winter: ice fishing. You’ll arrive at a lake by snowmobile before drilling a hole through the thick ice and fishing for Arctic Char. Cozy beside a crackling fire in a mountain hut, you’ll warm up with hearty fish soup lunch while admiring the dramatic scenery.

As evening falls, explore the landscape by snowshoe, softly picking your way through the silent wilderness as the aurora borealis dances overhead.

In the morning, putter out on a small boat into the Lyngen fjord’s deep water searching for dolphins, humpback whales, and orcas while surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Still catching your breath from the incredible marine encounters, have one more as you dock at Glacier Bay and hike to see a waterfall transformed into a crystalline sculpture by the cold.
