You’ll land in Reykjavik where your private driver will take you to your lodge nestled in Iceland’s dramatic snow-covered landscape. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll receive a driving brief from your expert guide who has navigated to the South Pole in one of the vehicles you’re about to drive.

Now it’s time to begin your epic crossing of this frozen land of Norse sagas and fuming volcanoes. For the first leg it’s a drive into the mountains, past steaming pools, and splashing through ice-blue rivers, before a lunch stop encircled by stunning views and little else. Afterward, you’ll gain more elevation and even more far-reaching views until you arrive at your luxury stay for the night.

As one of the planet’s most active volcanic areas, an adventure in Iceland demands a close encounter with these immense natural forces. Fly over an active cone pluming smoke and ash for an adrenaline rush or hike over moss-spotted lava fields before peering into the crater of a recently active volcano.

High in the rugged terrain, you’ll sink your toes into the soft fur of the reindeer rugs decorating your highland retreat (specially revamped for your adventure). From this base for the next two days, with meals prepared by a specially flown-in chef, you’ll drive to a glacier for a stern test of your vehicle’s capabilities. Afterward, switching to the nimble power of a snowmobile, you’ll skim across the snowscape towards an atmospheric ice cave.

Your third day sees you engage with more exciting and challenging conditions as you pass slumbering volcanoes, rugged gorges, and otherworldly valleys as you complete the final leg of your incredible trans-Icelandic journey.
