Maori Welcome & Wilderness Horseride

Begin your journey in North Island, under the shadow of the holy Titiraupenga Mountain, receive a traditional Maori welcome; in this powerful and passionate ceremony, the Powhiri demonstrates how spirituality, a love of the land, and respect for others remain entrenched in this ancient culture. Meet with Maori local Tom, a multi-talented chef, hunter, guide, and fount of Maori wisdom. Journey into the wild alongside Tom where you will explore the Kaimanawa Ranges whilst hunting and gathering food which you will then prepare and cook.

Spend the day in the saddle, venturing out on horseback in the forest, subtropical interior. Discover wildlife, flora, and fauna before enjoying a chef-prepared picnic lunch in a secluded spot surrounded by nature. Find stunning panoramic vistas at a viewpoint high in the hills before making your way down to the coast to gallop along the white sand beaches as the sun begins to set. Before the sun sinks below the horizon, swim with your trusted steed in the open sea to perfectly round off the day.

Mine Bay

Spend the day on a guided hike and swim around the picturesque Mine Bay. Discover native bush-clad hills, steep pumice cliff, and hidden bays over the crystal-clear waters of Lake Taupo. Discover the Mine Bay Maori rock carving, towering 14-metres above Lake Taupo, these carvings are one of New Zealand’s most extraordinary ancient art forms. Connect with a private launch and be taken out across the bay for a scenic lunch on the water.

Dusky Sound

Flying over to South Island, unearth the majesty of Dusky Sound and land on a custom-built floating helipad before transferring to your vessel for a day of fishing, discovery, and wildlife watching in the most exclusive environment. This is a spectacular region of the Fiordland National Park that is only experienced by a few lucky visitors, and Pelorus has gained access to this remote and pristine region. With an expert guide, swim alongside seals and dolphins for a memorable immersion in New Zealand’s natural bounty.

Transfer to a helicopter for a stint of heli-biking, taking a tour of the wonderful scenery before touching down on mountains empty of people and full of potential. With an expert guide to support you, shape the route through this untouched terrain.

Trek beside the Shotover River, following an old miner’s track, until you reach your private jet boat. Speeding downriver, you’ll fly through epic canyons before switching to a raft and navigating the rapids for a thrilling journey toward New Zealand’s capital of thrills, Queenstown.
