Whichaway Camp Antarctica

On the shores of one of the freshwater lakes of the Shirmacher Oasis, Whichaway Camp is a cluster of unheard-of luxury amid the traditionally stripped-down Antarctic existence.

The pods, built of high-quality fiberglass to minimize wind noise, are 65 feet in diameter. Within this cozy and yet spacious super-igloo, you’ll find a wash area, a separate toilet, and a writing desk in a nod to the arctic pioneers of earlier eras. Furs are within grabbing range at all times within the minimal and stylish interior. There is a communal dining pod, a library, a Snow Bar, and an observation deck from which to spot Emperor Penguins after a thrilling day of ice climbing.

It’s the only luxury destination of its kind in Antarctica. You’ll enjoy six-course tasting menus full of invention courtesy of award-winning chef Justine, the dining experience enhanced further by the communal dining pod’s stunning décor. For an aperitif, enjoy thousand-year-old ice in your drink at the camp’s Snow Bar.
