In the tropical tangle of the Canaima National Park in Venezuela, the Waku Lodge is a luxurious eco-lodge in view—and earshot—of huge falls. Bright-billed toucans sit in the trees while you swing in the hammocks below planning your next fantastic waterfall encounter.
The camp has so become part of the jungle that the native birds make themselves quite at home, to the point that you’re able to pet inquisitive toucans.
You’re so close to Angel Falls—the world’s highest waterfall—that you have to visit. Head out on a day trip or choose to overnight at a camp opposite the falls, sleeping in a hammock.

On the banks of a lagoon in the UNESCO-protected Canaima National Park, family-run Wakü Lodge is your ideal, hammock-strung stay while exploring the Venezuelan wilderness.
The lodges—with their high-paneled ceilings, parquet flooring, A/C, and en-suite bathrooms—are comfortable and practical. Dark wood decking outside blends neatly with the jungle setting.
Throughout the lodge are secluded nooks with outdoor furniture shaded by parasols where you can choose to dine or just relax with a sundowner after a day listening to the thunder of Angel Falls.
