Found in Western Zambia within Liuwa Plain, this lodge offers the ultimate in seclusion, instilling a feeling of intrepid exploration in anyone who makes the journey.

Design

Super luxe in design, the lodge still retains its safari authenticity with canvas walls and decks overlooking the plains. This indoor-outdoor flow completely immerses guests in the landscape: relax on the deck watching birds wade through the lagoon, or fall asleep under the stars to the sound of whooping hyenas.

The main camp houses the lounge, bar and dining area, built in the classic canvas and timber safari style. Outside, the generous raised deck boasts panoramic views of the Liuwa Plains as well as a plunge pool and outdoor fire pit located directly on the plain.

Designers enhanced the resort’s authentic safari vibe through architecture and interiors, with the six tents mirroring the broad lines of the Liuwa landscape. Effortlessly flowing between inside and out, the golden hue of the plains is reflected throughout the design, contrasting against masculine accents of vintage leather and burnished metal.

Sustainability

They are committed to preserving and protecting Africa’s vulnerable wildlife and habitats, supporting anti-poaching, environmental education, human-wildlife conflict and wildlife rehabilitation efforts. The camps are built using local techniques and sustainable local materials, and are run on solar power

The property are also dedicated to the community, employing locally as well as sourcing most of their fresh produce from neighbouring communities. Time + Tide’s Foundation drives community empowerment initiatives, with a key focus on inclusive, safe learning for vulnerable children.
