LOCATION

In southern Israel, set on a cliff in the Negev Desert, the Six Senses Shaharut is a luxury resort with vibrant pools glittering like opals amid its sensitively camouflaged footprint.

Blended into the landscape with the use of local rocks and pigments, the 60 villas are landscaped with indigenous blooms and regional cactus (even the interior furnishings are inspired by the desert palette).

Various villa sizes are available, with each offering a private pool and outdoor terrace, entertainment system, fully-stocked minibar, and all the other elements one would expect of a Six Senses.

An ever-changing menu of Mediterranean and Israeli flavors are on the menu at the resort’s restaurants. Choose more formal dining at Midian with its flatbreads fresh from its tabun oven, open-air mezze joint Zula, or casual poolside food (think sizzling meats) at Arava Bar.

WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL UNIQUE?

The resort has an on-site camel farm where you can meet these ‘ships of the desert’ before setting sail on the back of one into the Negev. Saunter out at sunrise or sunset for a Lawrence of Arabia-style excursion amid the stark and striking landscape.

The resort is also near to the remarkable archaeological site of Petra as well as the buoyant waters and mineral-rich benefits of the Dead Sea.

If you’d rather discover the benefits found within the resort, head to the spa for its fragranced swimming pools, signature treatments, and personalized programs.
