LOCATION

Suspended over the N’wanetsi River, the Lebombo Lodge draws its architectural inspiration directly from the environment: the intricate but sturdy eagles’ nests integrated into the cliff face. Artistically designed to blend into the surrounding areas, you are as close as possible to nature without losing any luxury. Surrounded by Singita’s 33,000-acre private concession in the park, the lodge intertwines your wild safari experience with inside indulgence courtesy of communal areas that extend seamlessly into rocky outcrops.

Completely opposite to the flat savannah, the landscape views you’ll get from here are dramatic: hilly and rocky terrain is peppered with Lebombo euphorbia, a cactus-like tree with a canopy of prickly, upright branches.

Decked out with a lot of glass, the suites are flooded with light for that indoor/outdoor feel. Rich materials of high-quality wood, steel and glass add earthy tones and soothing accents. Palettes of taupe, cream and grey establish a bold and contemporary style. Sleep out under the stars in a king-side bed on the wooden deck (don’t worry, there’s a mosquito net).

WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL UNIQUE?

Blending into the natural landscape of the hilltop, Singita Lebombo pushes the boundaries of safari style to opulence. Open-air lounging areas allow nature to merge with inside interiors, fusing the spaces together. Against the lush forest backdrop and serene Lebombo mountains, feel immersed in the beauty of the landscape amid contemporary luxury.

Experiences of the South African countryside rarely get more personal than this. Game drives are tailor-made: Responding to the individual guests, the professional field guide ensures no two drives are the same. A remote and wild region of Kruger, animal spotting and lion sightings are often unmatched in this gorgeous retreat. Track native animals on foot with guided walks led by experts in the field. From their wealth of experience, the guides will share anecdotes and tales of wild adventures.

See something you like? The boutique shop filled with antiques from every corner of Africa enables you to relive your safari adventure from the comfort of your own home. Collectable sculptures, art prints, homeware and furnishings as well as authentic carvings and jewelry by local craftsmen are lavishly available. Take that bottle of organic Cape wine (you can never have too much) home with you and, with world-wide shipping, there’s never more than you can carry.
