Design

Drawing in a rustic design each tent is effortlessly stylish and spacious, comprised of a large en suite bathroom with twin sinks, a huge brass ‘safari shower’ and large king-sized bed with crisp linen sheets. The safari never stops as each tent has it owns private veranda which looks out onto the river. Inside the tents, the furnishings boast a traditional safari feel, with old Indian chests, wooden bookcases, Persian rugs and brass chandeliers, all sourced from local markets and villages. The humble main area lies under the grove of the African ebony trees, lit by candles and lanterns with a large table for convivial communal dining which creates a glorious ambience.

Cuisine

All food and produce are sourced locally from farmers or organically grown then delicately prepared by local chefs. Breakfast and lunch can either be eaten in, or taken out on a morning safari and laid neatly on a Maasai blanket tablecloth, featuring hot tea and coffee, freshly baked bread, fruits and cereals, meats and salads, whilst your surrounded by the scenic landscape and native wildlife. Dinner is a more formal affair served alfresco and enjoyed around an elegantly laid dining table, with three courses paired with attentive and friendly hosting.

Safari

With safari being the main attraction due to the prime location, you are able to embark on considerable drives throughout the area and into the main Maasai Mara. The company Great Plains, who owns the property, also have huge involvement with the local community projects and local villages so there is the opportunity for you to gain a first-hand insight into the work that they do.

Why we love it

For a truly magical and romantic morning, take a sunrise hot air balloon ride and experience the magic of floating over the plains of the Maasai Mara. It’s the most unique and exciting way to view the landscape and wildlife, providing spectacular views with exceptional photo opportunities.
