Loggers Lodge

Harads, Sweden

Overview

With no light, sound, or air pollution, this is a place where you can disconnect from the outside world and experience untouched nature in its purest form.

Key Features

  • Loggers Lodge is completely off-the-beaten-track, affording guests the ultimate in privacy and seclusion
  • Relax in the glass-fronted sauna or outdoor hydrotherapy hot tub, taking in the incredible views and stargazing. Or, arrange for an in-house treatment from the lodge’s therapist
  • Enjoy traditional Lappish meals courtesy of your private chef, made with local, organic produce such as caviar, Arctic char, reindeer, moose, berries and wild mushrooms

In the heart of Swedish Lapland lies Loggers Lodge, a private authentic timber logging cabin nestled among trees, streams and breathtaking scenery – the perfect spot for those looking to get away from it all. And it’s thanks to this remote locale and lack of surrounding lights that means the sky shines with stars and the northern lights dance brightly.

Design

As the name suggests, Loggers Lodge was once home to local loggers. Built in the late 1800s, it’s now a luxuriously cosy retreat. On the outside, it’s rustically Scandinavian – the warm, ochre-coloured exterior stands out against the surrounding forest. Inside, it’s full of modern luxuries and is a dreamy escape from day-to-day life.

Designed for two, the cabin features just one main room. A glass-framed fireplace at the foot of the bed takes up centre stage, with a living area complete with armchairs and a dining table completing the space. Cosy nights are guaranteed with locally made rugs and reindeer hides aplenty, and a well-stocked supply of firewood. There’s also a sauna and hot tub to keep you extra toasty whilst allowing you to keep watch for those illusive dancing lights.

Why we love it

Dine on traditional Swedish Lapland meals prepared by your private chef using organic local ingredients, or slow down and breathe in the clean air and listen to the sounds of nature. There’s so much to do here, so head out ski touring, snowshoeing or ice fishing. Visiting in summer? The surrounding area is beautiful and there are lots of great hiking spots, or take to the water for a rowing excursion under the midnight sun.
