Exterior Lizard Island Resort

LOCATION

Lizard Island is located 17 miles off of the Queensland coast, at the northern extent of the Great Barrier Reef. It offers incredible access to this UNESCO-listed underwater ecosystem as well as a sense of desert-island seclusion.

The resort offers luxurious suites with infinity pools sympathetically designed to merge with the island landscape. The spacious villa, with its private plunge pool, seems to be built more of glass than solid wall, maximizing the views of the Coral Sea. Tranquillity and light are the overarching themes here.

The main resort restaurant is SaltWater offering delicious seasonal and locally sourced cuisine. The views from SaltWater over the sea are superb, but even better is the perspective from the exclusive beach pavilions on Anchor Bay where you’ll be served a private seven-course tasting menu with wine pairing.

WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL UNIQUE?

Its isolated location offers you uncrowded access to the Great Barrier Reef. The hotel offers many ways to experience the life beneath the cobalt-blue waters—such as the unforgettable night dive.

Or just look out over the water from one of Lizard Island’s 24 sugar sand beaches. Walk the coastline, looking for breaching sealife or a huge pile of sticks in a tree marking out an osprey’s nest—the gorgeous birds of prey like to nest on the island.
