Kenya Giraffe Manor Exterior

LOCATION

Nestled in the forested Langata suburb of Nairobi, Giraffe Manor is set in its own private 12 acres. This iconic 1930s manor house, built in the style of a Scottish hunting hotel, offers twelve bedrooms with warm and inviting African-inspired décor.

Expect antique furnishings, giraffe-sized four-posters, and roomy en suite bathrooms. Giraffe food is also on hand should you have an unexpected visitor call at your window.

WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL UNIQUE?

The herd of resident Rothschild giraffes adds a dash of wonder to this stately African residence. You’ll find their movements attuned to breakfast and dinner at the hotel, often slipping their soft, patterned necks through the large open windows of the chandelier-hung dining room.

When you’re not being distracted by the giraffes’ gentle ways, expect to sit down to delicious modern European cuisine with wine pairing and locally sourced ingredients.

If you can look beyond the dewy eyes of your patterned neck favorite, you’ll find the manor’s location offers easy access to a variety of experiences. Take a trip to see the wildlife at Nairobi National Park, over 400 species of bird plus zebras, lions, buffalo, antelopes, and leopards call the park home.

You can also schedule a visit to the local wildlife trust to visit orphaned elephants. Join in the rehabilitation program and contribute to the trust’s lifesaving conservation work.

Of course, if relaxation is top of your agenda, head to the manor’s spa and acquaint yourself with its range of beauty treatments and massages. Only organic products inspired by ancient African healing traditions are employed.
