Hero Dunton Hot Springs

LOCATION

Dunton Hot Springs is an 1800’s mining community turned ghost town set in a dramatic alpine valley. Lovingly restored, every detail of this bespoke resort has been carefully considered and beautifully rendered. Combining whimsy and elegance with rugged sturdiness, every cabin is distinct and idiosyncratic except for one uniting feature: the magnificent mountain and meadow views. You can also expect exquisite furnishings, heated slate floors, unique baths, and a collection of hand-picked antiques.

While you could spend an entire week cozied up in one of these beautiful cabins, Dunton Hot Springs is a place of activity as well as restoration. As the seasons dictate, commune with unbridled nature on foot, horseback, or skis. Discover alpine wildflower meadows or far-reaching mountain vistas. Expert guides are on hand to help you find hidden fishing spots or to experience a heart-pounding mountain biking adventure.

WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL UNIQUE?

Its abundant thermal waters captured in an extensive indoor and outdoor setting ensure a stay to remember. After a day following trails on horseback, soothe your muscles in  the indoor or outdoor natural hot springs. The calcium bicarbonate springs promote improved circulation, the perfect antidote for a weary mountain explorer. Relaxed and recharged, head to the original saloon and enjoy pure, old-western warmth with a meal made with produce from the farm, fish from the local streams, and wine from the local vineyard.

Not ready to go to bed yet? Grab a small batch beer in the dance hall, and spend the evening exchanging tales of the day’s adventures. Otherwise, head back to your log cabin and sip a decadent hot chocolate and curl up in front of your roaring fire or take a dip in the outdoor hot springs and gaze up at the starry sky through the medicinal steam.
