HERO Caiman Eco lodge Brazil

In the south of Brazil’s Pantanal region, located in its own 131,000-acre private reserve, is the Caiman Ecological Refuge.

This incredible working ranch, in one of the Americas’ most environmentally significant wetlands, is made up of two equally comfortable lodges. Available to hire exclusively or as individual rooms, each lodge comes with swimming pools and numerous hammocks slung between palms.

With incredible views from all angles, it’s no surprise that the superb restaurant offers alfresco dining as well as barbeque nights. The menu features organic local beef from the ranch’s herd as well as freshwater fish and fruit.

The Caiman Ecological Refuge is the most luxurious lodge in the Pantanal, and one of the easiest to access.

Staying here is to take part in a pioneering eco-tourism project, as well as to get a taste of Brazilian ranch life. With the Pantanal recognized as Brazil’s best-preserved biome, you’ll have an outstanding wildlife experience identifying the 300 species of birds noisy in the trees, the shambling armadillos, and, of course, the watchful caiman.
